PCB development is at the core of any electronics item. This is the part that most people without much experience are most concerned about. However, this is no problem at all in most cases as long as you have the functionality neatly outlined. Especially simple consumer electronics development is much easier from a PCB perspective than most people think. The software is often the harder part, but we also do the coding/flashing. At the same time, it’s of course also no problem for us if you know exactly how you want your PCB development done. Simply send us your Gerber/ODB files (or similar) and we can check those.
The coordination of your electronics development is easy if you already have you design files ready. If that’s not the case, you can simply send us a detailed description for the desired functionality and ideally a product reference that is similar to your product idea. For the final prototype, we will make the PCB prototypes along with 3D prints for the case (or similar) including other components and assembly if necessary. Our goal is always to make the prototypes as close as possible to the final version of the design files. Often changes are necessary and the prototypes have to be iterated.

How To Get The Electronics Prototype & More (If Needed)
1. Start With a Concept
It is essential to start any electronics and PCB development project with a clear, detailed concept. At no point in the product development process there is so much potential to save as much time and effort. Basic dimensions, materials, functionality and design goals have to be determined as early as possible.
2. CAD File Creation
The CAD or 3D files are mainly relevant for your external product design or casing (in most cases). It’s important to finish this part first so that the electronic components and PCB can be tailored well to your product. You can check the overall appearance and design also early on in the initial stage of the electronics product development this way.
3. Printed Circuit Board (PCB) Development
At the core of any electronics product is naturally the development of the custom PCB. We determine the number and layout of layers, creating the Gerber/ODB files including all components if required. Alternatively, we can review and make update your existing files so that everything is final for prototyping.

For scaling production after the development of your electronics product, it’s important to double check the cost and alternatives for PCB parts and other components. We always keep track of that during the entire prototyping process. Once the prototype is confirmed, this list and the costing can be finalized as well including packaging and other aspects.

The final goal of any electronics and PCB prototyping is the scaling to mass production. If you liked the development phase with us, we can gladly move on and directly implement everything. Frequently Asked Questions
IT IS BOTH POSSIBLE TO MAKE ONLY A PCB PROTOTYPE BUT ALSO A PROTOTYPE OF AN ENTIRE ELECTRONICS PRODUCT?
Yes! We cater both to needs of clients that are developing PCB components for the products they make themselves. On the other hand, we have can also take over the product development for an entire product. The latter is especially if just simple injection molded plastic cases and assembly are needed. The former is more common for more complex and larger item that often consists of many part groups. PCB prototyping is very similar in both cases. If it is used in a product that we don’t do ourselves, please just make sure that the specifications and all related aspects are final and confirmed. When we just do the PCB development, it is not possible for us to double check as many aspects as when we develop the entire electronics product. In that case, we can make sure the product works as desired even with some simple functionality descriptions/logic graphs or reference products with explanations.
I ALREADY HAVE FINAL DESIGN FILES AND KNOW EXACTLY WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE FOR THE PROTOTYPE. IS THAT ALSO FINE?
Of course! Especially our larger clients with relevant electronics development experience often have the electronics product design and specifications all ready (again, no problem at all if you don’t). We will strictly follow your instructions in this case and can straight up start with the PCB prototyping on the following day rapidly. Many electronics prototype companies need a long time even for basic steps, but we have usually everything we need for most products in stock or can order critical components quickly. Printed circuit board development is easy, but please make sure that the files you sent are final and confirmed. It’s often hard to make significant changes once we started and we have to start over again.
