3D Printing Services for Plastic
Prototypes & Custom Designs

Custom Prototyping, Small Volume & Special Plastic Part Needs

Want to 3D print any plastics parts affordably & conveniently?

Get help with and without design files!

The 3D Print & Plastics Prototype Package is made for anyone that wants to hold their design idea in their own hands. We can print any type of shape in pretty much any size and material that you need. You don’t need to have experience with CAD design files or similar, since we can also design and make the files for your if you want. We work with all common plastic 3D printing file formats.

Plastic production is a complex endeavor due to the multiple aspects of the process such as molding, product design, and product manufacturing itself. This is why it is important to undergo 3D prototyping to make sure you come up with the desired product before going for mass manufacturing. The plastics 3D printing helps to save money and time. Using 3D printing services is also a great idea if your quantity is low.

We Made Plastic Prototypes For

Why our 3D Print & Plastics Prototype Package?

Choosing the right 3D print prototyping manufacturer improves cost and flexibility!

You don’t have to be a plastics expert in order make or print plastic products. With our help and assistance, the task becomes less daunting and you will realize how easy it is to 3D print your own custom design and make/edit the design files (if necessary). We have a long experience in 3D printing all kinds of plastics and can offer better rates than most plastic prototype companies due to scale and machinery. If your product requires several prototype plastic parts, it’s also no problem and we can do the assembly.

Once you send or approve your design files, we right away move on to the sampling process in the form of custom 3D printing. You can use these 3D printing services to test your idea or do a low volume prototype run. However, you can also move on with us and create actual steel molds for mass production if needed! From design to prototyping plastic parts and mass production, we can support you with our all-in-1 solution for the whole way as your project requires it.

How to Get Your Plastics 3D Print & More (If Needed)

1. Develop a Concept

If you don’t have your CAD files already, we prepare your concept specifying the shape and dimensions. It’s an important first step for 3D printing services to have the basics defined exactly. Crucial parts of a plastic product such as connections, hinges and joint are all considered and included in the concept development.

2. Parts Optimization

We provide an overview of all the parts you need for 3D printing plastics according to your design. It also depends on whether you want to use your 3D printed product as a part for a larger product or if you want to move on to mass production after the plastic prototype manufacturing. We make sure that everything is considered before finalizing the design files.

3. Get 3D Print Design Files

CAD files contain all dimensions and are basically a full 3D model of your design. They are more difficult to create and update, so having a clear concept is required. The CAD files we make follow industry standards and can be used not only for plastics prototyping but also for mold creation and further uses.

4. Create the Plastic Product Prototype

Sampling with a 3D print allows you to experience your product first-hand and 3D printing services make it all more convenient to come up with a plastic product prototype that is ready for manufacturing as long as you approve it. We can iterate, update your CAD files and use any material for 3D printing that you might need.

5. Mold Making

Once the final plastics prototype is approved, we can now proceed to mold creation if needed. Alternatively, we can also 3D print many pieces of your design if you don’t want to scale your production (yet). In contrast to other 3D printing companies, we can also create any type of molds, whether with injection molding, blow molding or any other plastic fabrication process.

6. Mass Manufacturing with Quality Control

The last step in plastic manufacturing is to mass produce the product and provide quality control services to make sure each product coming off the production line is up to our standards. Whether you just want to use online 3D printing for lower quantities or scale production with steel molds, we can make it happen.

Frequently Asked Questions

It’s no problem in either case. We offer 3D printing services and can right away print your design when you send it to us. Alternatively, just send us a quick sketch, reference product or any type of digital drawing so that we can make your CAD/3D file first before we custom 3D print your design if needed. You can start at any point in the production process with us as your plastics rapid prototype company. Just contact us, your plastics manufacturer, and let us know what stage you’re at.

If you just want the 3D printing or plastic CAD design files for now but decide on the actual product later on, we can also accommodate that. We can assure you that our design files follow industry standards and they can be used by different plastic factories or molds manufacturers for production or other online 3D printing services. Your 3D/CAD are your very own intellectual property and you can do anything with them as you wish. Of course we would be delighted to work with you all the way, since we don’t only do plastics prototype manufacturing but also any type of molding and mass production.

There is no upper quantity limit for 3D printing, but at some point making actual molds gets cheaper. 3D printed items are always a few dollars at least while injected molded plastics parts are rarely more than USD1, usually some cents for small pieces. So plastics prototyping makes sense in the form of 3D printing in any case to make sure your design files are correct. The larger your item and the more complicated it is (because molds would be really expensive) the higher quantities for custom 3D printed plastics make sense. However, for smaller and simpler items, it makes more sense to make some type of mold already for a few dozen or one hundred pieces. Molded plastic parts have a better quality, stability and more flexibility than 3D printed plastic parts. Different colors for 3D prints are possible but the color variety is much more limited for examples and also the type of plastic material is limited.

We can handle and provide most of the common 3D/CAD formats. The best and easiest file type for us to handle is STP. It’s one of the most common ones and can be handled by most CAD software and it contains everything we need. Other neutral file formats are also usually fine like STL, IGS, DXF or similar. Some file types are limited to their respective software, like DWG for AutoCAD or PRT for Creo or SLDPRT for SolidWorks. This also works, but sometimes can cause issue when opened in different software suits. Just send us what you have in we can check it out. You also don’t need a 3D software suite when working with us, since we can send you simple screenshots to double check where the measurements are indicated.

Yes, plastics 3D printing and prototyping is the best choice for small quantities. Professional plastics manufacturing of larger quantities usually requires expensive molds that have to be carved out of steel blocks with CNC processing. You do not have to do molds with online 3D printing services because you get your designs 3D printed with a literal printer that doesn’t require any expensive molds. If you are only looking to make a single or a few prototype plastics parts, 3D printing is definitely the way to go. Simply contact us and we can go over the details of your design.
