CAD Files, Plastic Design &
Manufacturing for Any Product

Create Plastic Designs Professionally

You have a plastics design idea but need professional design files?

Get CAD designs quickly & affordably!

The Plastic Design & CAD Package is made for anyone that needs design files for a plastics production project. Whether you want to make 3D prints, injection molds or any other type of mold, we can accommodate your requests. You don’t need any experience, technical knowledge or CAD software to work with us, we can take care of your plastic design and manufacturing in an accessible way. We provide our designs in all major CAD formats.

Designing and manufacturing plastics products can seem like a dauting task with many critical process steps. We assist you with all tasks that are related to plastic design and manufacturing. CAD design services are only part of what we offer. We also help our clients with the implementation of the plastics design by making 3D prints/prototypes as well as the mass production including molds. It depends entirely on your needs. However, the plastics design step with making CAD files is certainly the most important one for determining your final product.

We Created Plastic Designs For

Why Choose Our Plastic Design & CAD Package?

You need experienced CAD design services to assure smooth production!

In contrast to most other CAD design services, we have not only product design but also manufacturing experience. It’s important to have since the following production aspects can have a huge effect on the plastics design from the beginning. Whether you want to make 3D prints or injection molding later on, there are limits and restrictions in terms of what will be feasible. Especially when you have more compilated shapes or several parts, this becomes crucial to optimize.

You can just send us any sketches or reference product to get started with the plastics CAD design files. We can work with pretty much any clear instructions and will put them into a concept design first to be on the same page. CAD design file editing is a lot of work, and having a clear plan right from the beginning saves a lot of time and effort. After the CAD files are created, you can continue to work with us to make your plastics product become reality (only if you want and if you need it of course). Just contact us for your individual requirements.

1. Develop a Concept

The first step for plastic design and manufacturing should be to do some basic technical drawings, the concept design files. Here we put down the shape dimensions and other basics to make sure that the design idea is neatly defined. This files also includes aspects such as different parts and connections. We iterate this with you until it’s correct.

2. Optimize Shape & Parts

Plastic product design is a bit tricky since the later manufacturing limitations should be considered early on. Especially for complicated shapes and when you have different (moving) parts, the plastic design idea should be reviewed carefully to make sure the CAD files are based on realistic and clever ideas for the later implementation.

3. Create Your 3D & CAD Design Files

At the heart of the CAD design services are obviously the CAD files themselves. Based on the concept that we made (or yours when you already have double checked technical drawings), we make the plastic CAD design files according to industry standards. We consider your project needs and revise the files until they correspond to your needs.

4. Make a Sample Print

We can then directly print your CAD plastics parts so that you don’t just see them on your screen but can also hold them in your own hands. Any common print material and also designs with several parts that need some assembly are no problem. This is the best way to check that your CAD design files correspond to all requirements.

5. Arrange Molds

In case that you want to do a production run (with injection molding for instance), you can directly move on after approving the CAD design files. Since we are not limited to CAD design services, we can also gladly arrange the mold creation at our facilities. Just talk to us about your individual needs since there is a wide variety of plastics processing.

6. Mass Manufacturing with Quality Control

Last but not least, we can do the mass production of your newly developed plastics design. Whether you just want to 3D print small quantities or arrange a large-scale molding run, we can gladly arrange it and also organize the shipping to you. You have full control and flexibility when working with us.

Frequently Asked Questions

It’s no problem for use to handle pretty much any CAD/3D formats for our plastic design and plastic manufacturing. We prefer neutral file formats and provide those since they can be opened and edited with any CAD software suite. The best option in our opinion is STP, but we can also provide or handle many other CAD design formats. Further file formats that are neutral are for instance DXF, STL, or also IGS. Formats such as DWG (AutoCAD), SLDPRT (SolidWorks) or PRT (Creo) are at least to some extend limited to the respective software suite. Just send us what you have if you can provide CAD files and just ask if you need a certain format. It’s not necessary for you to have any CAD software yourself. We can gladly also just send you screenshots with dimensions and 3D prints as part of our CAD design services for you to double check.

Sure, you don’t have to use our CAD design services to proceed with any of our related plastics manufacturing packages. It’s no problem at all to start at any point regardless where you are right now. Furthermore, we can also edit any CAD designs that you might already have. If you don’t have anything for your plastics design besides of an idea in your head, just draw it by hand or send us photos/links of something similar along with instructions. You can also send us a sample what you might have that you want to recreate. Our goal is to make plastic design and manufacturing accessible to anyone, regardless whether you have CAD design experience or you are just starting out.

Naturally we prefer if you stick to us also for production in case that you were satisfied with our CAD design services, but it’s no problem of course if you decide to do the production yourself or with a different manufacturer. The plastic design files are your intellectual property and you can do with them whatever you want. Plastic design and manufacturing follow established standards so that it shouldn’t be a problem for anyone else to work with the CAD design files that we created. Our 3D designs all follow common industry standards. If you should have any concerns about the mass production of your plastic designs, don’t hesitate to simply talk to us. We can usually also help with all sampling, molding production and shipping related aspects.

No, there is no minimum quantity, but there are some limitations because of the principles of plastics manufacturing. The question for the minimum order quantity (MOQ) is difficult to give a general answer for. It really depends on the complexity and size of your plastics item’s design as well as a few other factors like what kind of mold is needed (such as blow molds for bottles or classic injection molding). These other factors are commonly the material requirements and the order quantity. Injection molds that are carved out steel are usually several thousand dollars, even for relatively simple items. It does not make sense to produce a few dozen or few hundred pieces. At the same time, 3D prints as the alternative are much more expensive per piece than injection molded items (several USDs vs some cents). You get relatively quickly to a point where 3D printing at scale does not make sense anymore. Then there are simpler molds made of aluminum or similar. It’s really specific and we can only provide a reliable cost estimate and recommendations based on your CAD files.

Of course, it’s the best option if you want to double check your CAD files or if you are in the development phase of plastic design and manufacturing. 3D printing is also often the best solution for small scale production needs, when you simply need a few dozen pieces. However, it comes with some limitations with respect to material options, colors and also tolerances are not as good as (for instance) injection molding or other types of molds that are specifically made for mass production. Just get in touch and mention that you also want to get some 3D prints done.
