How to Create a Tech Pack & Make a Sample
1. Tell Us Your Concept
We discuss your clothing design and brainstorm its details and specifications. You can give us any sketches or drawings for the product you are trying to develop so it is easy for you to jumpstart the product development with your clothing tech pack.
2. Define Design Elements
We put all the details and specifications of the design into the tech pack. The tech pack serves as the basis for the clothing manufacturer when creating the sample & product. We help with technical details and revise the tech pack until everything is defined as needed.
3. Approve Dimensions
The measurements and dimensions of the clothing product must all be well defined so that we can make the cut sheet as well. If the clothing will be released in different sizes then the respective measurements must be included in this file as well. This is also important to test with making clothing samples.
4. Make Your Sample
If you have or completed the tech pack, it is important to create a clothing sample. Some necessary adoptions of the design files will only become apparent after manufacturing clothing samples. Your tech pack has to be updated afterwards accordingly.
5. Product Manufacturing
Once the clothing design files are final, you can now also mass produce your product with us, based on the final garment tech pack updated during the sampling stage. Depending on your budget, consider going for a low quantity for your first batch of orders to test the market.
6. Quality Control

What exactly is a tech pack?
A garment tech pack is a professional design file that contains all of the preferences and details about a clothing product, which is why it is a critical file for manufacturing. Without the tech pack design, it is not possible to start the mass production or clothing prototype making process, since the clothing sample manufacturer needs all details to be defined. It contains the information about the cut, materials, fabrics, sewing instructions, logos, care labels and sizing. There are more aspects to clothing as you might think, and you shouldn’t assume a certain interpretation but rely on everything being exactly documented.
If I have different designs, should I pay for an additional tech pack?
Yes, each design (but not size or color) needs a separate tech pack. Each tech pack is affordable and charged accordingly at $97 per design but we offer volume discounts if you want to create an entire clothing line. Simply ask our support staff for options for your individual case. The same applies to clothing sample manufacturing. Please make sure to always distinguish between certain designs, because we will open separate projects for each of the clothing designs and associated tech packs. Any type of clothing are fine for us, including underwear, sportswear, hats and other special items.
Are my designs safe and how do I get a copy of my tech pack?
Definitely. The clothing designs are your intellectual property and all the design files will be under your name. If you also use us as your sample clothing manufacturer, we will only use it as a reference for your product not edit, modify, pass on or use in any other way than for your projects. You will get your tech packs as PDF documents and cut sheets can be arranged in different formats according to your needs. We as your tech pack designer are only producing for our clients, not ourselves, and the different projects don’t have any influence on each other.
How long does it take until I can receive my tech pack after I’ve signed up for your services?
It usually takes 5 to 7 days before you can receive your tech pack for your clothing designs. Please note that it depends a bit on how long it takes with the payment and until we receive your reference files and instructions. We also might have questions, where your timely response helps to make it faster. Tech packs are very important for clothing manufacturing and they are the basis for a successful project.
Can I take the tech pack to a different manufacturer or send you a tech pack I already have?
Of course. The tech pack is basically the manual for making a garment product. Regardless of who the sample clothing or garment manufacturer is, our tech packs can be used to create your custom product pretty much anywhere. You can also gladly send us any tech pack you already have for directly making a sample, but we have to check that it is complete and some updates or answering open questions might be necessary. This has to be checked by our support staff.
