Denim is a rugged, sturdy, twill woven fabric, 100% cotton fabric.

Do you know that it was once used as sailcloth? The word Denim derives from the French word Serge de Nimes and refers to the city of Nimes; De Nimes means ‘of Nimes.’ We have embraced Denim in our daily lives like no one else. Denim is made from cotton fibers.

A unique feature of Denim is that a diagonal ribbing appears on the face of the fabric, which distinguishes it from other cotton fabrics. It is an amazing twill weave that forms this diagonal pattern. The fibers are woven on a loom in a twill weave pattern.

Have you wondered why your jeans are white on the inside and blue on the outside? The reason for this is that when weaving Denim, the warp thread is indigo dyed, while the weft thread is discarded. Types of Denim

100% Cotton Denim

This is the everyday Denim that you can treat in many different ways to create the different types below. This fabric is very durable, hardwearing, and versatile.

Raw Denim

It is a fabric that isn’t washed in the wake of coloring. This washing is typically done with the goal that the garments become delicate and dispose of shrinkage. What we call sewing is prewashing. It is also called Unsafered Denim.

Selvedge Denim

It refers to denim fabrics with edges that end with a usually colored orange or red band. It is also known as self-edged or selvage Denim. This Denim is viewed as of preferable quality over other Denim. Japan is the top clothing manufacturer of this sort of denim texture.

Crushed Denim

It is a denim cloth that is woven and treated so that it is permanently wrinkled or crushed.

Waxed Reverse Denim

It is a denim fabric that has a wax coating on the reverse side for water resistance. It is mainly used for making outdoor gear and bags.

Acid Wash Denim
